Leonila Guz from Kherson region was crowned the new Miss Ukraine 2018 in a televised ceremony held September 30.
The 19-year-old stunner replaced Veronica Didushenko, who was dethroned days after winning the title for violating the contest rules. Guz will now represent the country at the 2018 Miss World contest in December in Sanya, China.
Didushenko was stripped of the crown after it was later discovered that she entered “inaccurate information” on her application. The dethroned beauty queen was previously married and has a four-year-old son.
“A person who wishes to take part in the National Beauty contest Miss Ukraine must comply, among other things, with the following requirements (valid for the period of the Contest): — not / was not married; — does not have a child,” the Miss Ukraine organization said in a statement.
