The star-studded Miss South Africa 2021 competition concluded in glittering fashion on October 16 at Grand West Arena in Cape Town with Lalela Mswane winning the top plum.

The 26-year-old model, dancer, and law graduate bested nine other finalists for the crown. She will represent the nation at the 70th Miss Universe competition in Eilat, Israel in December. She suceeded Miss South Africa 2020 titleholder Shudufhadzo Musida.

Mswane hails from KwaSokhulu, Richards Bay in KwaZulu-Natal and has a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Pretoria.

Moratwe Masima and Zimi Mabunzi completed the Top 3. They are expected to compete in the 2022 editions of Miss World and Miss Supranational. The organization has yet to announce the their international pageant designations.

Bianca Bezuidenhout and Jeanni Mulder completed the Top 5.

Reigning Miss Universe Andrea Meza sat in the judging panel together with former Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach. Former Miss Universe titleholders Zozibini Tunzi and Catriona Gray served as the backstage hosts.

Meanwhile, reigning queens Miss World Toni-Ann Singh and Miss Supranational Chanique Rabe, former Miss World Rolene Strauss and former Miss Universe Margaret Gardiner are among the special guests.
