2021 Miss Gyeongbuk and 2021 Miss Korea first runner-up Kim Su-jin was appointed to represent South Korea in the upcoming Miss International 2022 pageant. She is 25 years old and she is currently studying at Keimyung University.
South Korea is yet to win the Miss International crown. However, two Korean beauty queens almost took the coveted by crown by finishing 1st runner-up. They are Son Tae-young who finished as first runner-up to Vivian Urdaneta of Venezuela and Seo Eun-mi who is the first runner-up of Anagabriela Espinoza in 2009. The country is currently ranked 19th at the Big5 Ranking.
