Puerto Rico is returning to the Miss Earth stage.
Karla Victoria Aponte has been chosen as Miss Earth Puerto Rico 2017 and will be crowned in a special event by no less than the reigning Miss Earth Katherine Espin.
She wil travel to the Philippines to compete at the 2017 Miss Earth finals in November. The last time Puerto Rico competed in Miss Earth was in 2014.
Aponte, 18, is a resident of San Juan. She is a college student and member of the national soccer team. She recently competed in Miss Puerto Rico Universe competition where she placed in the Top 10. Her environmental mission is to educate children on the importance of recycling.
The Miss Earth Puerto Rico 2017 coronation ceremony and press conference will take place on August 9 at the La Concha Renaissance Hotel in Condado, San Juan, Puerto Rico. Aside from Espin, Miss Earth Air 2016 Michelle Gomez and Miss Earth Water 2015 Brittany Ann Payne will also grace the event. Missosology.Org
