Karen Rojas from San Martin was crowned Miss Earth Peru 2017 during the finals held September 24 at Teatro Plaza Lima Norte.
She bested nine other candidates for the right to represent Peru at the 2017 Miss Earth finals in November in the Philippines. She received the crown from outgoing titleholder Brunella Fossa.
“This is my dream for which I fought consistently and without rest to make it a reality,” Rojas wrote in a Facebook post after her win.
Miss Piura Patricia Seminario got the title of Miss Air. Miss Ucayali Ximena Davila was crowned Miss Fire, while Miss Lima Alejandra Balbuena was Miss Water.
Peru has yet to capture the Miss Earth crown. The country, however, placed in the semifinals in 2002, 2004 and 2007. Missosology.Org
