Kamilla Serikbay has been appointed as Kazakhstan’s representative to the next edition of the Miss Universe competition.

The announcement was made by the Miss Kazakhstan organization in an Instagram post on January 1. The organization has decided to postpone its national contest due to the pandemic to focus on implementing charitable projects.

The 18-year-old applied law student was Miss Qyzylorda 2019 and was a finalist in Miss Kazakhstan 2019. She is into karate since childhood and aspires to be a UN goodwill ambassador.

“We are confident that she will adequately represent our country at the international Miss Universe contest,” the organization said in a statement.
