Kajel Kaur was crowned Miss Earth Malaysia 2019 during the finals of the Women of Malaysia 2019 pageant held September 6 in Kota Kinabalu.
The 23-year old medical student from Perak bested 10 other candidates for the title and the right to represent the Southeast Asian country at the 2019 Miss Earth finals in October in the Philippines.
“The feeling is so surreal! I will do my best to make Malaysia proud in the Phillipines this October,” Kaur wrote on Instagram. “My journey has just begun, let’s break the record by bringing something home for Malaysia in Miss Earth this year! Let’s heal the Earth together.”
Her elemental court included Miss Air ManjeEza, Miss Water Jasmine Lai, and Miss Fire Jeannifer Wong QiuSoeng.
Also crowned in the same event were Woman of Malaysia 2019 – Asia Pacific Amanda Lee, and Woman of Malaysia 2019 – Glamour Look Melissa Dennis Chong.
Reigning Miss Earth Nguyen Phuong Khanh, Miss Asia Pacific International Sharifa Akeel, Man of the World 2017 Mustafa Galal Elizali and Miss Earth Air 2018 Melanie Mader attended the event.
