An LSU cheerleader was crowned Miss US International 2016 during the finals held June 23 at the International Palms Resort, in Orlando, Florida.

Kaitryana Leinbach, representing South Atlantic, bested 25 other candidates for the chance to represent the United States in Miss International 2016 to be held in Tokyo, Japan in October.

On her Instagram account, Leinbach described her win as “the most exciting and crazy day of my life”.

“I feel so blessed to have been crowned Miss U.S. International 2016 and get the opportunity to travel to Japan for a month representing this amazing country at the international competition. Thank you to everyone who has helped me get here! This has been absolutely amazing and I can’t wait to get started,” she added.

Miss California Katerina Villegas finished first runner-up while Miss Florida Flavianny Santos from Florida placed second runner-up. Erika Turner from North Carolina and Rylee Coggins from Utah were third and fourth runners-up, respectively.

Leinbach previously competed in Miss North Carolina Teen USA 2016, where she placed 1st runner-up.
