Helen Hernandez was crowned Miss Aruba 2020-21 in a special ceremony held December 9 at Azia Cocktail Lounge.
The 20-year-old economics and administration student from Noord will represent the Caribbean island in the next edition of the Miss Universe competition.
“I am a woman who struggles to fulfill her goals and dreams. I have all the qualities to represent Aruba with dignity abroad,” Hernandez said.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Miss Aruba Organization held a casting to select the new Miss Aruba. Five women underwent a thorough screening including an interview to see the potential of each candidates.
Aruba came so close to winning its first Miss Universe crown when Taryn Mansell finished first runner-up in 1996. The country currently ranks 57th in Missosology Big 5 Ranking. Missosology.Org
