Gloren Guelos was crowned Miss Earth Canada 2020 in a virtual contest that concluded on September 18.

The 25-year-old licensed practical nurse, dance teacher, model and entrepreneur from Surrey, British Columbia will represent Canada at the 2020 Miss Earth virtual competition in November. She bested six other finalists including first runner-up Natalie Carriere and second runner-up Kathleen Barr.

“One week ago, I took a leap of faith without telling anybody. I trusted my gut and followed my heart. I listened to the voice inside my head that said “you can do it.” So I pushed my fears away and convinced myself to just glow for it,” Guelos posted on her socials. “Now, here I am ready to fulfill my purpose as Miss Earth Canada 2020! It’s still so surreal to say, think and read this out loud. But through courage, I have made it.”

Guelos raised in the Philippines and immigrated to Canada in 2008. She was Miss British Columbia 2016, Top 20 finalist in Miss Universe Canada 2018 and first runner-up in Miss World Canada 2019. She went on to compete at the Miss Supranational 2019 pageant in Poland.
