Geraldine González, representing Escuela SuperMiss, was crowned the new Miss Universo Chile during the finals held September 1 in Punta Arenas.
The 19-year-old law student, model and volunteer firefighter bested 17 other candidates for the title and the right to represent the South American country at the 2019 Miss Universe pageant.
Tiare Fuentes of Puerto Montt placed first runner-up, while Paula Henriquez of Santiago finished second runner-up. Viviana Luco of San Pedro de Atacama and Constanza Martinez of Communidad Extranjera were third and fourth runners-up, respectively.
