Gabrielle Vilela is Miss World Brazil 2017

Gabrielle Vilela who represented Rio de Janeiro during the competition, was crowned as the new Miss Mundo Brasil. Bárbara Reis finished as the first runner-up while Julia Horta is the second runner-up. As Miss World Brazil 2017, Gabrielle Vilela will compete at the Miss World 2017 pageant which will be co-hosted by Singapore and the People’s Republic of China. The finals is set on November 18 in Sanya.

A total of 42 women competed for the Miss Mundo Brazil 2017 title. The pageant has one of the most extensive selection process which begins at the state levels. There is also a lot of emphasis on the Beauty with the Purpose aspect of the pageant. The coronation night was held in Hotel do Bosque in Angra dos Reis, a small city south of the Rio de Janeiro state.

Brazil has one Miss World titleholder and she’s Lucia Petterle. She won the title back in 1971. In 1996, Anuska Valéria Prado came close in winning the second Miss World crown for Brazil by finishing on the third place. Last year’s Miss World Brazil, Beatrice Fontoura, made it to the Top 11.
