Gabriela Yalitza Monsalve has been handpicked as Miss Earth Ecuador 2020, the organization announced on its social media accounts on September 27.
The 24-year-old journalist and social communication graduate from the province of Manabi will represent the South American nation at the 2020 Miss Earth virtual competition in November. She was Miss Manabi Cultura y Civismo 2017 and represented Manabi in Reina Nacional del Langostino 2017.
Ecuador won the Miss Earth crown twice: in 2011 with Olga Alava and 2016 with Katherine Espin, who is now the national director of Miss Earth Ecuador. It currently ranks 44th in Missosology Big5 Ranking. Missosology.Org; Photos from Miss Earth Ecuador page
