South Dakota’s Emmy Rose Cuvelier was crowned Miss World America 2019 during the finals held October 12 at The Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The 22-year-old bested 40 other candidates for the title and the right to represent the United States at the 2019 Miss World contest in December in London.

“There are just no words to describe how I’m feeling! It’s such an honor to introduce myself as your new Miss World America,” Cuvelier posted on Instagram.

“I can’t wait to proudly represent my country and all of the amazing women standing on stage beside me, as I travel to London to compete for the title of MISS WORLD! Let this serve as a reminder to never give up on your dreams- they can come true!”

Megan Gordon of South Carolina finished first runner-up.

Miss World chairman Julia Morley and reigning Miss World Vanessa Ponce de León attended the event.

The United States has won the Miss World crown thrice (1973, 1990, 2010). The country currently ranks 1st in Missosology Big 5 Ranking. Missosology.Org; Photos from America’s Miss World page
