Elizabeth Bagaya, the first runner-up at the 2020 Miss Uganda pageant, has been named as Uganda’s representative to the 70th Miss World contest to be held in December in Puerto Rico.

Bagaya is a 26-year-old make-up artist and mental health advocate. She holds a bachelor’s degree in human resource management.

“I am so excited to be a part of [Miss World] family which is the biggest platform for young women to be world leaders, fearless, advocates, exemplary, nurturing, bold and be an INSPIRATION to many more young girls,” Bagaya posted on Instagram.

In April, Bagaya took over the duties of Miss Uganda 2020-21 after titleholder Oliver Nakakande was away to pursue her studies.
