Eden Berandoive, was crowned Miss Haiti 2020 in a special ceremony held December 6 and aired on the organization’s Facebook page.

Due to the limitations brought by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Miss Haiti Organization could not organize a national pageant this year. The organization, following the recommendations of the Miss Universe Organization, handpicked the 24-year-old beauty to represent the Caribbean nation in the next edition of the Miss Universe pageant.

“I am firmly committed to working tirelessly to act to inspire, to reflect the pride of our history and the beauty of our culture wherever I represent my country.” Berandoive wrote on Instagram.

No stranger to pageants, Berandoive was third runner-up in Miss Haiti 2019. She represented Haiti in Miss Panamerican Internacional 2019 where she placed in the Top 8 and bagged the Miss Elegancia and Miss Internet special awards.

Haiti came so close to winning the Miss Universe crown when Raquel Pélissier placed first runner-up in 2016. The country currently ranks 99th in Missosology Big 5 Ranking. Missosology.Org; Photos from Miss Haiti
