Pageant veteran Destinee Arnold was crowned the new Miss Universe Belize during the finals held September 6 at the Belize City Civic Center.

The 26-year-old model from Roaring Creek will represent the Central American nation at the 2019 Miss Universe pageant. She also bagged the Miss Popularity award.

Destiny Wagner and Markeisha Young finished firts and second runners-up, respectively. Aarti Sooknandan was named Miss Congeniality.

Arnold is no stranger to pageants. In 2012, she represented Belize in Miss International in Okinawa, Japan. A year after she won Miss Costa Maya. She holds a sociology degree from California State University Fullerton and currently works in the insurance industry.
