Dee-Ann Rogers from Anguilla, a British overseas territory in the eastern Caribbean, was crowned Miss Universe Great Britain 2018, making history as the first woman of color to wear the crown.
The 25-year-old bested 40 other candidates for the chance to represent Great Britain at Miss Universe 2018. She has a degree in law from the University of Birmingham.
Simren Vernon and Cara Bianca Frew placed first and second runners-up, respectively.
“My aspiration in participating in the Miss Universe Great Britain Pageant is not only to advance the pageant, but also to experience a new pageant system and to be able to forge a possible bridge for subsequent Miss Anguilla winners to experience the same pageant system,” she said.
The finals was held on July 14 at the Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre in Newport. Missosology.Org
