The Miss Earth Guyana organization has decided to postpone the holding of a new pageant until next year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and instead appointed former contestant Cintiana Harry as Miss Earth Guyana 2020.
“After several months of consideration and deliberation, the Miss Earth Guyana Organization has made the difficult decision to shift its 2020 applicants to its 2021 National Competition,” the organization said in a statement.
The 27-year-old beauty from Kilcoy, Berbice was “rightfully” next in line for the selection after her outstanding performance in last year’s competition where she finished as Miss Eco Guyana, the statement added.
“My heart is filled with excitement; I am extremely happy to be given the opportunity to continue to help make the world greener using the prestigious title of Miss Earth Guyana 2020,” Harry posted on Instagram. “As a strong and confident woman, I am determine to be an Earth Angel to be the protector of Mother Earth and to be her voice that can stay strong in helping to build a better tomorrow.”
