Chelsea Tayui was crowned Miss Universe Ghana in a private ceremony held September 26 at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra.

The 25-year-old communications executive from Keta will represent the African nation in the next edition of the Miss Universe competition. This will mark Ghana’s return to the Miss Universe competition after skipping last year’s contest.

“I am committed to working tirelessly to bring a spirit of compassion and service to the people of Ghana and to represent my beautiful country at the international level with all the glory that it deserves,” Tayui posted on Instagram. “I am humbled by the trust you have bestowed upon me and I will wear it with all the honor and dignity that it deserves. I am here to serve.”

Ghana has yet to win the Miss Universe crown. It currently ranks 76th in Missosology Big5 Ranking. Missosology.Org; Photos from Miss Universe Ghana page
