Pageant veteran Chantel O’Brian was crowned Miss Universe Bahamas during the finals held October 3 at the Rosewood Baha Mar.

The 27-year-old motivational speaker, model, and entrepreneur will represent the nation at the 70th Miss Universe competition in Eilat, Israel in December. She succeeded 2020 winner Shauntae Miller.

“There’s so much that I want to say but not enough words and characters can express my heart. This raw reaction was from a place of great relief and thankfulness,” she said on Instagram.

O’Brian is no stranger to pageants. In 2015, she won Miss World Bahamas on her third try and went on to represent the Bahamas at the Miss World 2015 finals in China.

She obtained a bachelor of administration in business enterprise from the Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland. While obtaining her degree, she founded PS O’Brian Consulting, a pageant, etiquette, runway coaching and consultation agency.
