Camila Escribens was appointed Miss Supranational Peru 2020. The announcement was made on the official Instagram account of the Miss Peru organization.
The 21-year-old stunner from Lima will head on to compete in the next edition of the Miss Supranational pageant. She has big shoes to fill followingJanick Maceta’s third runner-up finish in Miss Supranational 2019.
No stranger to pageants, Escribens previously represented Peru in Miss Grand International 2019 and finished in the Top 10.
Escribens was first runner-up in first edition of Miss Peru 2019 held ion October 2018. The edition was marred with a string of controversies which led to the dethronement of Anyella Grados (Miss Peru 2019) and Tiffany Yoko Chong (second runner-up). Escribens, despite receieving heavy criticisms for not speaking Spanish fluently (she represented Peru USA in the competition), was able to keep her title of Miss Grand Peru 2019. A new Miss Peru 2019 competition was held a year later with Kelin Rivera as the winner.
