Former Miss Earth elemental queen Bruna Zanardo was crowned Miss Beleza Internacional Brasil 2017 on September 29 in Rio de Janiero.
The representative of São Paulo bested 13 other candidates for the chance to represent Brazil at the 2017 Miss International beauty pageant to be held in Tokyo, Japan in November.
Mariah Khenayfis (Rio de Janiero) placed first runner-up, while Luciana Mello (Distrito Federal) was second runner-up. The representatives of Ceara and Roraima completed the Top 5.
Zanardo won the Miss Earth Fire 2016 title during the Miss Earth 2016 finals held last year in the Philippines. However, she was dethroned by Carousel Productions after she joined the Miss São Paulo 2017 pageant, one of the regional finals for Miss Brasil 2017. Carousel’s contract with elemental queens prohibits the ladies from joining any other pageant during her reign. Zanardo finished first runner-up in Miss São Paulo. Missosology.Org
