Bronwyn O’Connell was crowned Miss Earth Ireland 2021 during the finals held August 28 at the Royal Theatre in Castlebar.

The 27-year-old model and cabin crew member will represent the European nation at the 2021 Miss Earth pageant. She succeeded 2020 winner Nadine Pfaffeneder.

Her elemental court included Miss Air Nira O’Gorman, Miss Water Vivian Birungi, and Miss Fire Clodagh Cahill.

“It will be such an honour to wave the Ireland flag with such pride in the Philippines this year. I will be working very hard to try and achieve my goals that I set out,” O’Connell was quoted by Goss.ie. “With my new title, I will continue to educate not only my generation but generations to come across my social media platforms. I will be doing my weekly beach clean ups, and making people aware of how we can all protect our marine life.”

Ireland has yet to win the Miss Earth crown. It currently ranks 34th in Missosology Big5 Ranking. Missosology.Org; Photos from Miss Earth Ireland
