It’s official: Miss International 2020, set for October this year, has been cancelled and will instead be held in 2021, sometime after the Tokyo Olympics/Paralympics.

With the health and safety of the candidates of top concern at this time of the Covid-19 pandemic, the International Cultural Association “have come to a painful conclusion to cancel this year’s Miss International.”

Details of the next edition, dubbed as the 60th Miss International, to be held in 2021 “will be announced in due time.”

“Rest assured that through our slogan ‘Cheer All Women,’ we are determined and committed on pursuing our goal of supporting all women,” Akemi Shimomura, chairperson of the International Cultural Association (ICA), said in a statement sent to select stakeholders and supporters of the pageant.

Miss International 2019 Sireethorn Leearamwat of Thailand will fulfill her responsibility until she turns over the title. Official announcement from the ICA will be announced sometime next week. Missosology.Org
