Birta Abiba Þórhallsdóttir, representing Geysir, was Miss Universe Iceland 2019 during the finals held August 31 in Reykjanesbær.
The 19-year-old from Mosfellsbær bested 20 other candidates for the title and the right to represent the country at the 2019 Miss Universe competition.
Also crowned in the same event is Miss Supranational Iceland 2019 Hugrún Egilsdóttir, representing Gardabaer. The 23-year-old marketing student from Garðabær will compete at the 2019 Miss Supranational pageant in December in Poland.
