Baitong Jareerat Petsom was crowned Miss Earth Thailand 2021 in glittering finale held September 25.
The 28-year-old architecture graduate and green lifestyle advocate will represent the nation at the 2021 Miss Earth pageant to be held later this year.
Her elemental court included Miss Land Satang Sasipapha Paphonthitanaphum, Miss Water Beebee Kittiya Phumsung, Miss Air Fon Patcharida Ngonking, and Miss Fire Yuyi Thidapon Ketthong.
Baitong is the environmental ambassador for the Green World Foundation. She also runs Baanbaan, a Facebook and Instagram page that educates people about sustainable living. In 2019, she was named UN Sustainable Ocean Ambassador.
“I’m really excited about that (competing in Miss Earth), because Miss Earth is concerned about environmental issues for real. I’m going to use this platform to tell people what I am doing. I still believe in that process of the beauty pageants, where women can do something much more than being beautiful,” she said.
A familiar face in pageantry, Baitong was a Top 10 finalist in Miss Universe Thailand 2017. She competed again in Miss Universe Thailand 2020 and placed in the Top 20.
