Ashley Alvídrez, representing Chihuahua, was crowned Miss Mexico 2019 during the finals held September 20 in Mexico City.

The 20-year-old from Ciudad Juarez will vie for a back-to-back victory for Mexico at the 2019 Miss World contest in December in London. She received the crown from last year’s winner and reigning Miss World Vanessa Ponce de Leon.

Marilú Acevedo of Veracruz and Wendy Chávez of Chiapas placed first and second runners-up, respectively. A total of 32 candidates competed for the title.

Mexico won its first Miss World crown last year. The country currently ranks 13th in Missosology Big 5 Ranking. Missosology.Org; Photos from Show, Miss Mexico Organization page
