Held in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Shiekh, the Miss Serbia pageant concluded with the crowning of 20-year-old beauty Anja Radić. The first runner-up is Anela Džanović earning her the right to compete at Miss Charm while the second runner-up is Anđela Bucalo. The Miss Eco Serbia title meanwhile was bestowed to Nataša Pilipović. A total of 20 contestants competed.
Anja Radić is now expected to compete at the Miss World pageant. Serbia was once the dominant nation when Yugoslavia was still in existence. In 1966, Yugoslavia made a debut at Miss World and the country’s contestant, Nikica Marinovic became first runner-up. In 1976, Yugoslavia decided to stop sending contestants at Miss World as a protest against the participation of a white Miss South Africa. Serbia has competed at Miss World as Yugoslavia from 2003-2005 and then as Serbia since 2006.
