Andrea Martínez was crowned Miss Universe Spain 2020 during the finals held November 21 in Canary Islands, the first edition held under the Nuestra Belleza España Organization.

The 27-year-old model from León edged out 16 other finalists for the title and the right to represent the European nation in the next edition of the Miss Universe competition.

Top favorite Andrea de las Heras placed first runner-up while Ainhoa Portillo finished second runner-up. Oriana Correia and Angie Benavides Castillo completed the Top 5.

Martinez is no stranger to pageants. In 2015, she competed in Miss Mundo España and finished in the Top 10. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management and a masters in project management.

Spain bagged the Miss Universe crown in 1974 with Amparo Muñoz. The country currently ranks 8th in Missosology Big5 Ranking. Missosology.Org; Photos from Miss Universe Spain
