A 26-year-old model and journalist from Santiago was crowned he new Miss Universo Chile 2018 during the finals held August 19.
Andrea Diaz, who was born to a Venezuelan mother and Chilean father, will now represent the country at the 2018 Miss Universe competition to be held in December in Bangkok, Thailand.
“I have the fusion of two cultures in me, which makes me an integral woman, which gives me the honor of being a citizen not only of Chile or Venezuela, but of the world,” Diaz was quoted in Spanish by Emol.com.
Sabina Ahumada and Geraldine González placed first and second runners-up, respectively.
Cecilia Bolocco, who won in 1987, is the only Miss Universe titleholder from Chile. Missosology.Org
