Adele Sammartino, representing Campania, was crowned Miss Mondo Italia 2019 during the finals held June 15 at Teatro Italia in Gallipoli.

The 23-year-old psychologist from Pompei edged out 49 other candidates for the right to represent the European country at the 2019 Miss World finals in December in Thailand.

She said after the crowning: “I dedicate this victory to my mother and my father who have always motivated me to face the challenge of Miss Mondo Italia with light-heartedness but also with the right attitude.”

Katia Riparelli and Lorenza Di Cesare placed second and third, respectively.
