For the second year in a row, the middle-eastern nation of Bahrain will be represented at the Miss Universe competition. Evlin Khalifa, 24, will be the second Bahraini beauty to compete in the prestigious pageant after she was crowned as Miss Universe Bahrain 2022. Born to a Russian mother and to a Bahraini father, Evlin Khalifa is a model and a pianist. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Banking. She hails from the city of Riffa and in her spare time she loves to dance and practice taekwondo.
A total of 7 finalists competed in this year’s pageant. Lujane Yacoub is the first runner-up while Shereen Ahmed and Maryam Naji tied for the second runner-up.
“More than the physical beauty, it is our utmost goal to celebrate a platform that gives voice to the empowerment of women, to highlight their incredible and innovative contribution to our society and to inspire other women to break stereotypes not only in GCC but all throughout the world,” said Josh Yugen, the national director of Miss Universe Bahrain. “These women are graced with passion, cocooned with courage and armored with their pursuit of love, sisterhood and kindness.”
