Representing the state of Espirito Santo, Mia Mamede clinched the coveted title of Miss Universo Brasil 2022 during a pageant held in Sao Paulo on July 19. Rebeca Portilho was named as first runner-up, while Isadora Murta was second runner-up. Luana Lobo and Alina Furtado completed the Top 5. A total of 26 vied for the prestigious title. Mia Mamede will represent Brazil at the Miss Universe 2022 pageant which will be held later this her.
Mia Mamede is 26 years of age and works as an actress and as an entrepreneur. She has a degree in Audiovisual Journalism and Socio-economics from the University of New York and speaks multiple languages including Portuguese, English, French, Spanish and Chinese.
Brazil boasts two Miss Universe titleholders: Ieda Maria Vargas and Martha Vasconcellos. Brazilians are quite hungry for a crown as the last one was won more than half a century ago. The country is currently ranked 4th at the Big5 Ranking after the Philippines outranked it in 2020.
