The Miss Universe Germany organization has announced that Soraya Kohlmann is the new Miss Universe Germany. She will compete at the Miss Universe 2022 pageant which will be held later this year. The selection was carried out in the city of Düsseldorf. Soraya Kohlmann carried the banner of the state of Saxony and she’s 23 years of age and works as a model. She was also crowned Miss Germany 2017 which is a separate pageant that no longer holds the Miss Universe franchise.
Germany has one Miss Universe – Marlene Schmidt who won in 1961. The country was pretty strong in the pageant until mid-1980s. The last German beauty queen who made it to the Miss Universe semifinals was Natascha Börger in 2002. Germany occupies the 17th spot at the Big5 Ranking.
