No travel restrictions and an emerging new coronavirus variant could stop the excitement that comes with the start of the 70th Miss Universe competition. As of this writing, most of the candidates are already in host country Israel finishing their registrations and fittings for this years pageant.
The astounding number of front-runners is truly breathtaking and that makes our core group of correspondents and experts pretty much on the edge. While it is true that it is still early in the game to make any definite predictions, but many candidates have already displayed their superior prowess upon arrival in Israel.
And who else is fit to lead the way than professional model Nadia Ferreira of Paraguay who oozes with so much has the international appeal and magnetic stage presence. But aside from her beauty, she is also a person of community service, being a Girl Scout troop leader. She is also a polyglot (she speaks Portuguese, Spanish, and Guarani). Paraguay is definitely a county to watch out for in this edition and we hope that her chances rests upon her inherent strength and not on the sash weight.
Not far behind is a familiar face in the pageant scene, Valeria Ayos of Colombia. She has improved a lot from her Miss Earth 2018 stint where she finished as Miss Water. Miss Universe is a huge deal in Colombia where the quest for their third crown is a relentless annual pursuit. Valeria is intelligent, full of class, well-experienced and her beauty has won the hearts of many. To put it bluntly, she could be the next Miss Universe!
India is definitely sending another strong delegate with Harnaaz Sandhu. It was only last year when India finally returned to the Top 5 of Miss Universe after 19 years, but it has been 21 years since they last won the crown. Harnaaz definitely has what it takes to win: she has the beauty, the height, and the speaking ability every Indian representative posseses (just check out our Beauty Talks with her!). But what sets Harnaaz apart is that she has done a lot of charitable works even before she won the crown.
Not to be forgotten is the stunning Sarah Loinaz of Spain who has been turning heads since arriving in Israel. This lady exudes charisma that is just too hard to ignore! Aside from that she has good communication skills, which she has proven during her Missosology Beauty Talks guesting. Keep an eye on Sarah as she could truly be Spain’s next Miss Universe titleholder!
Finally, Venezuela is ready to avenge its non-placement in the previous edition. Luiseth Materan arrived in Israel with her guns fully loaded. There is that air of sophistication and brilliance whenever she speaks and moves. Not surprising as Luiseth’s drop-dead gorgeous beauty has been impressing many pageant observers since the day she competed in Miss Venezuela.
