Paula Montes, representing Lima, was crowned Miss World Peru 2021 during the finals held August 28 at the Westin Hotel in Lima.

The 25-year-old model and certified health coach from Lima bested 16 other candidates for the title. She will now head on to compete at the 70th Miss World contest in November in Puerto Rico.

Michelle Peter (Lambayeque) and Almendra Caceres (Piura) were first and second runners-up, respectively. Almendra Castillo (Callao) and Fabiola Aguilar (Lima Norte) completed the Top 5.

“To Peruvians I say that I will not disappoint you and I will give my all to represent our Peru as it deserves. It is an honour and a great responsibility to be Miss World Peru,” Montest said.

Montes’ Beauty with a Purpose project provides psychological support for cancer patients, specifically young people between 13 and 25 years old. She was a finalist at the Elite Model Look Peru 2014 contest.

Peru bagged the Miss World crown twice: in 1967 and 2004. The country currently ranks 28th in Missosology Big 5 Ranking. Missosology.Org; Photos from Miss World Peru
