Claudia Todd was crowned Miss Scotland 2021 in a glittering ceremony held August 27 at Corinthian Hotel in Glasgow.

The 25-year-old ambassador for the UK Sepsis Trust will head on compete at the 70th Miss World contest in November in Puerto Rico. She succeeded 2019 titleholder Keryn Matthew.

Elaine Burns and Jennifer McFadden placed first and second runners-up, respectively.

“To me it (winning) means so many things. You can empower young people, especially on social media. Nowadays social media has such a detrimental effect on young people’s lives and I believe as Miss Scotland you could make a positive platform,” Todd said.

Todd, who until recently worked as a Disneyland Princess at Disneyland Paris, survived a deadly sepsis battle at the age of 22. She now uses her platform to raise awareness of the life-threatening condition and, to date, has raised over £10,000 for the UK Sepsis Trust.
