Rose Meléndez, representing Limón, was Miss Honduras Universe 2021 during the finals held August 28 in Roatán island.
The 27-year-old model and volleyball player bested nine other candidates for the title and the right to represent the nation at the 70th Miss Universe competition in Eilat, Israel in December. She succeeds 2020 winner Cecilia Rossell.
Nasifa Gabrie of Puerto Cortes placed first runner-up.
“La honra y la gloria sea para Dios,” Meléndez posted on Instagram. She is studying business administration and works in a real estate company. She competes in Liga de Voleibol del Valle de Sula.
