Mariela Cerros was crowned Miss Mundo Nicaragua 2021 during the finals held May 22 in Managua.
The 21-year-old beauty from Nueva Segovia received the crown from 2020 winner Sheynnis Palacios. She also won Mejor Cuerpo (Best Body).
Palacios will represent Nicaragua at the 70th Miss World in December in Puerto Rico, while Cerros is expected to compete at the 71st Miss World next year.
Matagalpa’s Kendal Suarez placed first runner-up, while Jinotega’s Maria del Pilar Sequeira finished second runner-up. The rest of the finalists were Matagalpa’s Katherine Mora (third runner-up), Costa Caribe Sur’s Lyska Cuthbert (fourth runner-up), and Managua’s Jatzary Salvatierra (fifth runner-up).
