After four months of tough competition, the Bendice La Corona 2020 online competition concluded on November 9 with Amira Hidalgo winning the Miss Mundo Argentina 2020 crown.
The 23-year-old journalist from Bella Vista bested seven other finalists for the title and the right to represent Argentina in the next edition of the Miss World contest.
“For me to be a representative of the country, to be ‘Miss World Argentina’ at an international level, I stopped being ‘Amira Hidalgo’ and became ‘Argentina’,” Hidalgo was quoted by Diario Show. “The crown is not mine but belongs to all Argentines to highlight the integral beauty that Argentine women have.”
This marks the first time in its 66 years of existence that the Miss Mundo Argentina contest was held virtually.
Argentina won the Miss World crown twice (1960 and 1978). It currently ranks 24th in Missosology Big5 Ranking. Missosology.Org; Photos from Miss Argentina
