Nova Stevens was crowned the new Miss Universe Canada during the finals held October 24 at the John Bassett Theatre at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto.
The 27-year-old model and activist edged out 39 other candidates for the crown and the right to represent Canada in the next edition of the Miss Universe competition. Stevens, who stands 6′ was also awarded Best Runway Model.
Tamara Jemuovic placed first runner-up while Jaime VandenBerg finished second runner-up. Svetlana Mamaeva and Sam Fraughton were third and fourth runners-up, respectively.
No stranger to pageants, Stevens was a Top 12 finalist in Miss Universe Canada 2014. She came back in 2018 but finished in the Top 20.
