Maria Kaneya was crowned Miss World Japan 2020 during the finals held September 24 in Tokyo.
The 18-year-old dance and vocal group member from Akita prefecture bested 34 other candidates for the title and the right to represent Japan in the next edition of the Miss World contest.
Her runners-up were Tamaka Hoshi, Maria Enna and Kana Yamaguchi.
