As one of the fast rising countries in African not only in economic terms but also in the world of pageantry, Ghana is considered as the darling of West Africa. The country can truly pull a surprise at major international beauty pageants. The indelible legacies of great Ghanaian beauty queens such as Akuba Cudjoe (Miss Universe 1999 semifinalist) and Carranzar Naa Okailey Shooter (Miss World 2013 2nd runner-up) paved way for others to shine internationally. This includes Daniella Akorfa Awuma (Top 15 at Miss International 2017) and Belvy Naa and Abena Appiah (semifinalists at Miss Earth 2018 and 2019 respectively).
