Isabella Bennett has been appointed Miss Earth US Virgin Islands 2020.
The 25-year-old actress, model and environmental activist will represent America’s paradise in the next edition of the Miss Earth competition.
“Never stop striving for your goals no matter how impossible they may seem,” Bennett said in an Instagram post. “Today I am honored to announce that I have been blessed with the opportunity to live out my dream of competing at Miss Earth as your 2020 Miss Earth U.S Virgin Islands!”
No stranger to pageants, Bennet has been involved with the Miss Earth USA for three years and earned the “Beauty for a Cause” award twice during her time competing. Throughout her pageant career she has won the Miss Congeniality award five times.
Bennett, who raised in a biracial household and has always identified as mixed race, is of several different nationalities including African American and Portuguese. In 2017 she was trained by US vice president Al Gore as a member of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps, a nonprofit organization dedicated to spreading awareness of the climate crisis and working for solutions to the greatest challenge of our time.
She is a first generation college graduate who attended the New York Institute of Art and Design where she received Dual Certificates in Wedding Planning and Event Planning. She is currently studying disaster relief at the Community College of Rhode Island.
