23-year-old Evelyn Namatovu is all set to carry the sash of Uganda at Miss International 2019 . The graduating student at Makerere University, majoring in entrepreneurship and business management, will only be the second Ugandan to participate in the prestigious beauty pageant.
The peaceful land-locked African country is returning at Miss International through the efforts of Monica Akech, the current license holder of Uganda. Monica promises that starting 2020, Uganda will be holding a separate pageant to crown the country’s Miss International delegate. This year, however, due to the urgency and limited time, Monica was chosen via online casting and interview.
Uganda was first seen at the Miss International stage when the pageant was held in Chengdu, China in 2009.
