Vichitta Phonevilay was crowned Miss Universe Laos 2019 during the finals held August 24 at the Landmark Mekong Riverside Hotel in Vientiane.
The 23-year-old professional model edged out 29 other candidates for the title and the right to compete at the 2019 Miss Universe competition.
In 2016, Phonevilay won the Laos SuperModel contest. She is currently studying in London.
Meanwhile, Phaithida Phonthusana placed first runner-up and was named Miss International Laos 2019. She will compete at the 2019 Miss International beauty pageant in November in Japan.
Lattana Munvilay finished second runner-up.
