Oliver Nakakande was crowned Miss Uganda 2019 during the finals held July 26 at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel, and attended by reigning Miss World Vanessa Ponce de Leon.
The 24-year-old business marketing and management student bested 21 other candidates for the title and the right to represent the East African country at the 2019 Miss World finals in December in London.
She received the crown from last year’s winner Quiin Abenakyo who made history as the first from Uganda to make it to the Top 5 of Miss World pageant.
Elizabeth Bagaya and Mariam Nyamate placed first and second runners-up, respectively.
