Pageant veteran Paola Chacón Fuentes was crowned Miss Costa Rica 2019 during the finals held July 19 at Marco Picado studio in San Jose.
The 27-year-old San Jose native will now represent the Central American country in the next edition of the Miss Universe pageant.
Monica Zamora and Brenda Muñoz placed first and second runners-up, respectively.
This will not be the first time that Chacón will compete in a Big5 pageant. She competed in Miss Supranational 2016 and Miss International 2017. She also represented Costa Rica in Miss Tourism International 2014, Top Model of the World 2015 (Top 17), and Reina Hispanoamericana 2016.
Chacón has a degree in business administration.
Former Miss Costa Rica winners Karina Ramos and Natalia Carvajal hosted the finals night.
