Daniela Zivkov won the Miss Austria 2018 crown in her hometown of Linz during the finals held September 1 at the Linz Design Center.
The 21-year-old professional officer in training bested 19 other candidates for the title and the chance to represent the country at the 2018 Miss World finals in Sanya, China in December.
“I never expected it, I saw very different girls as favorites,” Zivkov said moments after winning.
Izabela Ion (Miss Vice-Miss Vorarlberg) placed first runner-up (or Vice-Miss Austria 2018), while Sarah Posch (Miss Vice-Miss Styria) finished 2nd runner-up.
This year, the Miss Austria pageant focused on the “beauty with a purpose” mantra. As such, the swimsuit round was kept behind closed doors.
